Professional Work

Showcase

The final part of your course is the application stage where you perform in a Showcase in Guildford and London.

This is a compilation of solo and duo scenes from plays, musicals and TV and film scripts. You will be assisted in the selection of suitable material for this show which is compiled by either a freelance director or one of the professional directors on the faculty. The Showcase is specifically designed for Agents, Casting Directors and Directors to appreciate your work.

You also perform in a musical which is specifically chosen to demonstrate the strengths of your group whilst providing as many challenges as possible within the constraints of casting. You will also have the opportunity to audition for the Graduate shows which, whilst not being a part of your course, offer further opportunities for you to practise and develop skills. All GSA productions play to paying members of the public.

The MA programmes are designed to develop skills and we have found that the best way to do this is in the classroom. We assume that most MA students come to us with performance experience and their reasons for attending a course such as ours is not for exposure but for concentrated developmental work that will prepare them for competing successfully in the performing arts world.
