Musical Skills, with classes in Group Singing, (including Rudiments) and Individual Singing, working towards establishing a secure technique, a workable singing range and a greater understanding of the skills required in solo repertoire and ensemble singing.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- confidently support even sound through a minimum range of 1.5 octaves suitable to your voice
- sing both legato and staccato with clear, even sound
- move evenly and slowly from one vowel sound to another both quickly and slowly without changing the central quality of the sound
- show clear articulation of words and an understanding of phrasing
- rely on technique to project your voice safely, effectively and comfortably
