GSA Official Opening

GSA's new headquarters was opened officially on Monday 26th April 2010 by HRH Duke of Kent. GSA alumni, including Brenda Blethyn OBE, Celia Imrie, Tom Chambers, Bronagh Waugh and Helena Blackman joined, guests and staff and students for tours of the building and the formal unveiling of the placque.

Brenda Blethyn OBE, returned to GSA to take part in the official opening of the new GSA building. Miss Blethyn had laid the historical 'topping out roof tile' on 16th July and was delighted to see the completed building, resonating with students' voices in classes as visitors toured the various studios during the official opening.

GSA completed the move to our new home at Stag Hill during December 2009. Since the beginning of the January 2010 performance staff and students have been working and training in the new building.
The new GSA school is at the entrance to the campus. This will be followed by a new Performing Arts Centre due to open in 2010/11. The Higher Education Funding Council are investing £3,000,000 in this project with GSA and the University raising the rest of the £12,000,000 to complete the project.
